Family Day "Bird life in February and March"

We will learn about the activities of birds from winter to spring. Wood owls will become active as they start to call out at night in the woods and parks in the dark and plan their brood. A pair of white-tailed eagles will nest in February and March, woodpeckers will begin to flock in spring, and ravens and hooded crows will start their nesting season. On the day, we will meet the long-tailed duck, the bird of the year.

The day will include activities in the geology workshop: we will learn about the Archaeopteryx and explore exciting findings under the microscope. In the handicraft workshop, we will make owls and other birds - everyone can take home a bird of their own making.

From 11.30 am to 1.30 pm, you can get to know the animals that live in the living corner of the Natural History Museum, such as pythons, iguanas, turtles, and fish.  

The "Bird Life in February and March" will take place on 25 February from 11 am to 3.30 pm at the University of Tartu Natural History Museum - participation with a museum ticket.
